Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu on Saturday said the government is set to formulate a policy on broadband internet, tax on telecommunications and spectrum for the development of telecommunications sector.Inu came up with the disclosure while addressing a seminar on ‘telecommunications policy for the national development’ at a city hotel.
He added: “We have to develop telecommunications sector to build up Digital Bangladesh. That’s why we need a supporting policy.”
Post and Telecommunications Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun, Information and Communications Minister Mostafa Faruk Mohammad and Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission Chairman Sunil Kanti Bosh were among others present at the seminar. (Source: banglanews24.com)
