Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has gunned down two more Bangladesh nationals in Haripur border of Thakurgaon district early on Tuesday.Bokua Union Chairman of Haripur Upazilla, Abu Taher said Nurul Islam, 40, and his wife Mukta, 30, were killed in the BSF firing.
The two had gone to the Indian side of border when their cattle had strayed across .
Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) camp Company Commander Ohab Ali confirmed that the incident took place in Buzrukh border around 4:00am.
He said a letter was sent to BSF requesting a flag meeting to discuss the incident.
International human rights groups have expressed concern over the large number of killings on the Indo-Bangladesh border due to trigger-happy BSF personnel. Bangladesh has strongly protested the killings and said this is a major irritant in bilateral relations.
