Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) picked up three Bangladeshi nationals from Medenipur and Benipur border points in Jibannagar upazila on Wednesday.The victims were identified as Ariful Islam Arif, 30, Kawsar Ali, 42, and Hashem Ali, 30, of the upazila.
BGB sources said the BSF men from Putkhali BSF camp picked up Arif and Kawsar as they went to Medenipur border area for bringing cattle back home in the evening.
Chuadanga BGB-6 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Gazi Asaduzzaman said a commander-level flag meeting was held on Thursday following the incident but the BSF men said the detained Bangladeshi people were handed over to Indian police.
In another incident, BSF men picked up Hashem Ali as they he went to Benipur border area on the same day.
Meanwhile, the BGB men sent a letter to BSF but there has been no response so far. – UNB
