Indian Border Security Force (BSF) picked up a Bangladeshi farmer from Dhala village in Gangni upazila of the district on Friday.The victim was identified as Shafiqul Islam, 32, son of Nazat Ali of the village.Subedar Rezaul Haque, commander of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Kathuli camp, said BSF members from Bhighalkanti camp picked up Shafiqul from the village near the border around 11:30am while he was cutting grass for his cattle.BGB sent a letter to the BSF protesting the incident and demanding a flag meeting, which was later held at 9:30am on Saturday.At the meeting, BSF Bhighalkanti camp inspector Sanjir Roy informed BGB that they had handed over Shafiqul to Murutia thana of Nadia district. – UNB, Meherpur
