BSF releases Bangladeshi boy in Chuadanga

A Bangladeshi boy, who was picked up by Indian Border Security Force
(BSF) personnel from Medenipur border in Jibannagar upazila on Friday
morning, was released three hours later.
Lieutenant Colonel Gazi Asaduzzaman, commander of Chuadanga-6 Border
Guard Bangladesh (BGB), said BSF members from Putkhali camp picked up
Shamim, 12, son of Liakat Ali Mandol of Hariharnagar village in the
upazila, from the border at about 9.00am while he was cutting grass
for his cattle.
After the incident, the BGB sent a letter to BSF protesting the
incident and requesting a flag meeting in this regard.
In response to the letter, a company commander level meeting was held
between the two border forces at noon and BSF released Shamim, the

Youth held with revolver, bullets in Khulna
Police arrested a young man along with a foreign made revolver, five
rounds of bullet and six sharp weapons from a cyber café near City
College in the city on Friday.
The arrested was identified as Ehsan Hossain Bijoy, 23, an employee of
the café and son of Sheikh Munsur Rahman of Musalman Para in the city.
Police said acting on secret information, police raided RSS Cyber Café
adjacent to City College and arrested Bijoy along with a foreign made
revolver, five rounds of bullet and six sharp weapons at about 5.00pm.
