Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has invited applications from interested mobile phone operators for providing licenses for the third generation (3G) cellular mobile phone services.
According to a notice released on BTRC website on Sunday, the deadline for submission of applications to the Commission is August 1. “All the concerned entities are requested to submit the application in the box kept in the office of the commission before 3:30 pm on the aforementioned date,” the notice said.
Presently, only state-run mobile operator Teletalk Bangladesh Ltd has been providing 3G service that allows its users to use their smart phones for TV viewing and holding video conferences through high speed wireless internet. – UNB
