The Pir Shahed of Charmonai, Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim on Friday
called for building resistance against abduction, complaining that the
government has not yet succeeded to arrest anybody on the charge of
the offence.
He said that no man – political, leader, businessman or industrialist
– was safe from the curse of abduction and enforced disappearance
which cannot be allowed to continue unabated.
Addressing a public rally of the Islami Sramik Andolan, an associate
of the Bangladesh Islami Andolan of which he is the Ameer, the Pir
Shaheb said the state cannot run in the midst of abduction and
enforced disappearances.
Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim however said that such lawlessness cannot
be tackled on a lasting basis through the prevailing system of
administration. There is no alternative to Islami system of
administration to find a way out of all kinds of unrest, he said. –
