Dhaka – At least 2 people were killed and 20 other injured when a bus slid off a driveway and backed into the roadside ditch in Kumarkhali upazila on Wednesday afternoon.The deceased were identified as Nayon Hosen, 32, the driver, son of Mizanur Rahman of Jagannathpur village in the same upazila, and Zafor, the helper.Witnesses said, the accident took place around 2.30pm when a Douladia bound bus lost control over the steering soon after its try rod tore up near at Mas-Ud-Rumi bridge in Lahinipara area and overturned into the ditch, leaving the duo dead on the spot and 20 others injured.The injured were taken to Kushtia General Hospital and the dead to its morgue for autopsy, said officer in charge of Kumarkhali Police Station Abdul Khalek, adding that a firefighting unit is working to fix the bus.One of the injured is in critical condition, according to the doctor on duty.UNB news agency
