The Cabinet’s first meeting after ministers tendered their resignation
letters to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be held on Nov 17.
On Monday, ministers had handed their ‘undated’ resignations to the PM
to facilitate the formation of an all-party interim cabinet to oversee
the 10th parliamentary election.
The Cabinet’s next regular meeting is scheduled at 10am on Sunday,
Cabinet Division Secretary Muhammad Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said on
Wednesday.
He did not, however, say whether the Prime Minister will meet with the
old Cabinet or a reconstructed one.
Earlier, Cabinet meetings were usually held on Mondays.
Musharraf said the Malaysian Prime Minister was arriving on a visit to
Bangladesh that day, explaining the change in routine.
Since the PM would be busy with her Malaysian counterpart on Monday,
the Cabinet meeting had been fixed on Sunday, he said.
Full and junior ministers submitted their resignation letters to
Sheikh Hasina when the Cabinet met last Monday.
The Cabinet Secretary had then said that was possibly the last Cabinet
meeting under the present government. -bdnews.com
