Caliming herself wife Nasrin files dowry case against Sunny

Dhaka – Nasrin Sultana, who claimed herself as the wife of national cricketer Arafat Sunny filed another case over dowry.
She filed the case with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Monday against the spinner and his mother Nargis Akhter.Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raihanul Islam took the case into cognizance and summoned Sunny to appear before the court.
According to the case statement, she and Arafat got married on December 4, 2014 and lived together in a rented house.
Later, Arafat demanded Tk 20 lakh dowry to him and said that his mother would accept the marriage if the money was given, the plaintiff alleged.
However Arafat refused to get married the woman and posting offensive pictures of the plaintiff on the social media.
The cricketer was arrested on Sunday in a case filed under Information and Communication Technology Act.
The left arm spinner made his international debut against Sri Lanka in February 2014 with a T20 against Sri Lanka. He subsequently made his ODI debut against the same team in the same year in a bid to accompany Shakib Al Hasan in the spin department.
He was the integral part of Bangladesh’s limited over cricket until he was suspended by ICC for illegal bowling action during the World T20 in March last year. The match against Pakistan in the tournament was his last International match as he couldn’t comeback into the side despite remodeling his action. The emergence of Mehedi Hasan Miraj, Saqlain Sajib in the spin department kept him out of the national team.
The spinner has played 16 one-day internationals, taking 24 wickets, and 10 Twenty20 internationals in which he picked up 12 wickets. – Staff Reporter
