Call for enriching Bengali cultural heritage, ideals

Speakers at a cultural function have stressed properly preserving and flourishing our rich Bengali cultural heritage, ideals and feelings to inspire the future generations in nurturing those for enriching further.

They were addressing the concluding and prize distribution ceremony of the daylong cultural function organised by the District Shishu Academy on its premises in the district town on Saturday evening.
Over 200 child artistes and teachers from all five upazilas of Panchagarh participated in the competitions of rendering Tagore’s song, Nazrul’s song, patriotic song, poem recitation, drawing and dance in three categories throughout the day.
The Shilpakola Academy premises turned into a huge ‘milan mela’ of hundreds of the artists, socio-cultural activists, children, youths, adolescents, civil society members and elite who gathered there and enjoyed the competitions.
Later, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Panchagarh Ahmed Kabir attended and addressed the concluding ceremony as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners of different competitions.
With vice-president of District Shilpakola Academy Shafikul Islam in the chair, its General Secretary Abu Toabur Rahman addressed the ceremony as the special guest. –BSS, Rangpur
