Rajshahi, 20 Feb – A case has been filled over the assault on a teacher of Rajshahi University (RU) accusing eight intern Doctors of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) on Tuesday.The case was filled with Chief Metropolitan Court, Rajshahi filed by advocate Bazla Tawhid Al Hasan (Babla) for accusing 8 men on attempt to murder Case under sections 342/325/326/307 of penal Codes.
The accused are interne doctor Meri Piyanka (53th batch MBBS), Mirza Kamal president of RMCH interne Medical Officer Parishad, its general secretary Dr LuthforRahmn, Rahman Atik, HimelShaha, ChinmoyMoitree, Habibur Rahman and Jahid Kamal.
Advocate Bazla Tawhid Al Hasan (Babla), a lawyer of Rajshahi district court said, he filled the case for attacking on RU teacher ATN Anamul Haque Zahir. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Rajshhai Kudrate Kuda granted the case.
Earlier ATM Enamul Zahir, a senior Professor of RU law department assaulted by RMCH medical interne doctor when he met a collision with Merry Priyanka on Wednesday night
As Priyanka asked Professor Zahir if he could not walk carefully, he later made the remarks ‘nonsense’ to her, making an altercation between them. Later, Priyanka called her others mates who beat up the Professor pitilessly.
Later, some on-duty nurses of the ward rescued the professor and locked him in a room. However, after a while another group of interns once again break the lock ofthe room and beat the professor again.
On deteriorating condition of victim right eyes, Jahir was admitted to RMCH on 16February. The students of the campus burst into the demonstration programprotesting and blocking the Dhaka Rajshahi high way on 15 February.
A human chain program was formed demanding the punishment by RU LawAlumni Association in the city on Tuesday. – – RU Correspondent
