Casino culture started during BNP-Jamaat rule: Quader

Savar, Sept 25 (UNB) – Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Wednesday reiterated that the casino culture was introduced in the country during the BNP-Jamaat regime.

He came up with the claim while talking to reporters after inaugurating an underpass on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar Cantonment area.

Quader, also the Awami League general secretary, said there is nothing like small fish or big fish but whoever will be found involved in corruption will be brought to book.

He said the ongoing drive against militancy and drugs will continue and no corrupt element will be spared.

There were terrorism, militancy, liquor and gambling during the BNP-Jamaat regime but they did not take any action in this regard, the ruling party leader said, adding, “But, we’re taking legal action against them.”

No one will be spared after committing corruption and tender manipulation, he warned. “The drive will continue until corruption is uprooted. Sheikh Hasina has accomplished what Khaleda Zia couldn’t.”

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Enamur Rahman, GOC of Savar Cantonment Maj Gen Akbar Hossain, Engineer-in-Chief of Bangladesh Army Maj Gen Ibne Fazal Shayekuzzaman were, among others, present.
