Muggers took away Tk 4 lakh from a cattle trader after stabbing him at Badamtala intersection on the Bhomra-Satkhira road of the district on Tuesday night.
The injured was identified as Saju, 35, son of Abdus Samad of Boikari village in Sadar upazila.Police said a gang of muggers intercepted Saju’s motorcycle and tried to snatch away money from him while he along with his relative Monirul Islam was going to Satkhira at about 8:00 pm.At one stage, the muggers snatched a bag containing Tk4 lakh.They also stabbed Saju as he tried to resist.Hearing Saju’s screams, locals rescued him and rushed him to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.Police arrested three people named Rubel Sardar,23, son of Rafi Sardar, Abu Sayeed, son of Hamid Sardar of Alipur village, and Ripon Sardar, 22, son of Khalek Sardar of Mahmudpur village of the upazila, in connection with the incident.UNB, Satkhira
