Centre for Bangla language, culture opens in Tokyo

As part of public diplomacy initiatives, Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo has opened a Centre for Bangla Language and Culture.The first formal class of the Centre was conducted on June 16 with the presence of more than 10 children aged 7 to 12 years.

The young learners were also shown a video documentary, titled ‘Beautiful Bangladesh’ in Japanese version. They were taught the National Anthem of Bangladesh on the first day.

The purpose of the Centre is to ensure that the younger section of Bangladesh diaspora in Japan learn their mother tongue, retain and nurture their unique and distinct culture and tradition while at the same time they learn to respect the Japanese culture as well.
