Dhaka – China on Monday called for fair and inclusive polls in
Bangladesh amid spiraling violence ahead of the January 5 general
election.
“As a friendly neighbour of Bangladesh, China sincerely hopes that
relevant parties in Bangladesh will put premium on national interests,
find a solution acceptable to both through dialogue,” China’s Foreign
Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei told a regular briefing in Beijing.
Hong urged the political parties to hold an inclusive election at an
early date and work together for political stability, social
tranquility and economic development, according to website of China’s
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. – UNB
