City Group to provide Tk 2.41 crore for 2019-20

Dhaka  – City Group, which signed a five-year deal with Bangladesh Archery Federation for improvement of the game with slogan of “Teer Go for Gold” announced a budget of Tk 2.41 crore for the 3rd year (2019-2020).

Earlier, the City Group signed a five-year deal with Bangladesh Archery Federation in October 23 in 2017 to nurse Bangladesh archers for Olympics gold and this time they increased yearly budget for the 3rd year as Bangladeshi archer Ruman Shana achieved the first target to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics directly.

During the last two year’s “Teer Go For Gold” campaign, Bangladesh earned 15 golds, 18 silver and 10 bronzes from international meet including a bronze medal by Ruman Shana from World Archery Championship’ 2019 in Netherlands to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics directly.

Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) of the City Group (Teer) Zafar Uddin Siddiqui praised the outstanding performance of Bangladeshi archers in the international arena, especially Ruman Shana’s qualification for Olympics, at a press conference at the Dutch Bangla Auditorium of BOA on Saturday.

He announced a budget Tk 2.41 crore for 3rd year with 72 lakh for event management and Tk 1.61 crore for development purpose.

General Secretary of Bangladesh Archery Federation Kazi Razibuddin Ahmed Chapal and German Head Coach of Bangladesh team Martin Frederick also spoke on the occasion where Federation Joint Secretary Rashiduzzaman Serniabad andMedia Committee Chief Rafiqul Islam Tipu were also present.

Replying to question, Chapal said they are excepting a good result from Ruman Shana in the Tokyo Olympics 2010.UNB
