Dhaka- Dhaka AbahaniLimited and Dhaka Mariner Young Club emerged group champions to reach the semifinals of the KhawjaRahmatullah Club Cup Hockey Tournament on Thursday.In the semifinals on Saturday, Abahani Ltd will play Victoria SC at 5 pm while Mariners Club will face Sonali Bank SRC at 7 pm at the same venue.
Dhaka Abahani Limited outplayed Sonali Bank SRC by 7-1 goals while Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club beat Ajax SC by 4-0 goals in their lastgroup matches at the MaulanaBhashani National Stadium here this afternoon.
Krishna Kumar struck twice while Mohammad Mohsin, RummanSarkar, Asharful Islam, Afsaruddin and Musa Miah scored one each for Abahani while Prosenjit Roy netted the lone goal for the bankers’ team.In the other match, FarhadHossainSitul scored two and HasanJubairNiloy and Fazar netted one each for the Mariners Club.UNB
