Dhaka – Sonali Bank SRC kept their semifinal hope alive in the Marcel Club Cup Hockey Tournament beating Bangladesh Sporting Club by 3-1 goals in an ill fated Group B match at the Maulana Bhasani National Stadium here on Tuesday. The match between two teams was abandoned after 45th minute on Moday due to insufficient light when Bangladesh Sporting .Club was leading by 1-0 goal scored by Belal in the 33rd minute.In the remaining 25-minute match on Tuesday, Taher Ali, Rocky and Prasenjit netted one field goal each in the 56th 63rd and 67th minutes respectively to keep the bankers’ team semifinal hope alive.Sonali Bank will play lowly Wari Club at 2:30 pm while Abahani Limited will face group leader Mohammedan SC in the remaining group match at 4:15 pm on Wednesday for the another semifinal berth from the group with semifinalist Dhaka Mohammedan SC.(UNB)
