I-Cup Football: Abahani reach final routing Sheikh Jamal 6-0

Dhaka :- A fine hat-trick by Nigerian striker Sunday Chozoba enabled Dhaka Abahani Limited to reach the final of the KFC Independence Cup Football crushing Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 6-0 goals in the first semifinal at Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Tuesday.Abahani Limited will play the final on Saturday at 5:30 pm against the winners of the second semifinal Sheikh Russel KC and Chittagong Abahani, who will meet each other on Wednesday at 5:30 pm.In the first semi, Sunday Chizoba slammed a hat-trick scoring four goals while English forward Lee Tuck netted two goals for the sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani. All the goals were scored in the 2nd half.Lee Tuck opened the floodgate for Abahani Limited in the 48th minute from a penalty (1-0). Abahani forward Camara Sarra was brought down by Sheikh Jamal defender Kesto Kumar and referee pointed his finger for a spot kick. Lee Tuck did no commit any mistake to convert a penalty. . Lee Tuck doubled the Abahani margin again in the 50th minute by a cool header, off a curved cross of Nigerian forward Sunday Chizoba from the left flank (2-0).Nigerian forward Sunday Chizoba scored his first and the 3rd goal for Abahani in the 60th minute. Lee Tuck sent a long through pass to Sunday who went past his marker and placed the ball into the net beating Sheikh Jamal goalie Himel (3-0).Sunday Chizoba netted his 2nd and the 4th goal for Abahani Limited in the 64th minute by a 20-yard right footer (4-0).Sunday completed the hat-trick in the 81st minute by a header, off a cross of winger Jewel Rana (5-0).Sunday Chizoba sealed the fate of the match scoring his 4th and the 6th goal for Abahani Limited in the 83rd minute by curving shot for about 25 yards (6-0).Earlier, Nigerian forward Sunday Chizoba wasted the first opportunity  of the match in the 6th minute when he broke free past the Jamal defense with a super through pass of Lee tuck. But the Nigerian took too much time allowing Jamal defenders to take control of the ball.In the 36th minute, Gambian midfielder of Sheikh Jamal Landing Darboe chipped the ball to his captain Wedson Anselme who failed to beat Abahani goalie Sultan Ahmed Shakil, who recovered from his first mistake and snatched the ball from the feet of Wedson.In the very next minute, Jewel Rana of provided a neat cross to Camara Sarra the Senegalese forward of Abahani, whose weak placing went straight to Jamal goalie Himel.
