Clues at hand to arrest blogger Niloyo Killers: Asad

Home Minister Assaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Tuesday said the law enforcers have gotten sufficient clues in connection with ‘blogger’ Niloy killing to arrest the culprits.
‘Blogger’ Niladri Chaterjee alias Niloy, who was residing at a rented flat on the 4th floor of a multi-storey building at Goran in the city, was hacked to death in the city’s Khilgaon area on Friday.
“ We will arrest the killers after scrutinising the evidences,” the Home Minister told reporters after   inaugurating Dhaka Area of office of Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in the city’s Gendaria on Tuesday.

“We don’t want to do anything on the basis of assumption. If we do so, the real killer might get scope to run away or look for opportunity to escape,” the Home Minister added.
He said all elements of evidences will be scrutinised  and then all efforts will be made to arrest the killers of “Blogger” Niloy, the Home Minister said.
About allegation of crossing limit by a group bloggers while writing on any religious issues, the Kamal said action will be taken under the country’s existing laws if any one hurts in religious belief through the writing in blogg or other media.
Niloy is the fourth Bangladeshi blogger hacked to death so far this year.
Three other bloggers were targeted in similar killings in the country since February this year – Avijit Roy, Washiqur Rahman and Ananta Bijoy Das.
Meanwhile, earlier addressing a discussion meeting after inaugurating the Dhaka Area office of DNC, the Home Minister said the government has taken various initiatives to strengthen the DNC.
As part of its initiative, members of the department will be equipped with firearms after providing them firearms trainings. Initially limited firearms will be distributed, he added.
Chaired by DNC director general Bazlur Rahman, Local MP Kazi Firoz Rashid, Additional Secretary (Political) of Home Minister Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Momin and Deputy Commissioner (Wari Division) of DMP Sayed Nurul took part in the discussion. – News Desk
