CNG stations to operate round the clock Oct 11-19 for Eid

CNG refueling stations across the country will remain open round the clock from October 11 through October 19 to facilitate journey of the home-bound people during the holy Eid-ul-Azha. This was decided at an inter-ministerial meeting at the Communications Ministry with its minister Obaidul Quader in the chair.   After the meeting, the Communications Minister informed reporters that the decision was taken to enable the homebound people to make smooth journey both before and after the Eid-ul-Azha.   However, leaders of the Bangladesh CNG Station and Conversion Workshop Owners Association said they are yet to be communicated about the decision.   “We are yet to learn of the decision, but hope the authorities concerned will soon communicate their decision to us,” said president of the association Zakir Hossain Nayan.   Normally, such decision is taken 7-10 days before any major festival. But this time, the government announced the decision a month before the holy occasion.   At present CNG stations remain closed from 5 pm to 9 pm every day. – UNB
