A coal worker was stabbed to death by unknown miscreants at Lalghat in Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj district on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Fazlu Miah, 22, a worker of Bagli coal depot and son of Abdul Kuddus, a resident of Puranghat village in the upazila.
Police said, a group of unidentified miscreants swooped on Fazlu in the area and stabbed him indiscriminately while he was returning home by a bicycle from his workplace at about 9:00 pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
Locals recovered Fazlu’s body on Sunday morning and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
