A college girl became victim of rape in the city’s Mirpur on Saturday. Police arrested three youths in connection the rape incident. However, the rapist remained absconding soon after the incident.
Quoting the victim, a first year (Hons) student of City College, said the girl was taken to a house of West Shewrapara by one of her friend named Sabbir in the morning. Later, one Shawon allegedly raped her in the house, while another one identified as Wahidur Rahman Rocky recorded in video camera, ASI Zahid of Mirpur police station.The incident took place in between 9:00 am to 9:30 am. As the girl complained to Mirpur police station in the afternoon, the police went on action and arrested three youths––Nawaj Sharif, 22, Sohel, 32, and Rocky from West Shewrapara in the afternoon, said Sub-inspector Kamal Hoosain, who conducted the raid.
He said the rapist Shaon and the friend of the girl Sabbir remained absconding since the incident took place.
Nawaj Sharif demanded money from the victim, otherwise threatening her to release the video on the net, while Sohel, owner of the house, helped Shaown to comit the offence, SI Kamal said.
No case was registered with the police station till filing of this report at 8:45 pm.
The victim was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment. – News Desk
