Comilla, Oct 01 – At least seven people were killed and 15 others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Nuritola area in Chandina upazila on Sunday.The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.
The Dhaka-bound bus of Tisha Paribahan, coming from Companiganj, fell into the roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving five people dead on the spot and 17 others injured around 12 pm, said Paritosh Ghosh, superintendent of Highway Police (Comilla Zone).
Among the injured, two died at Chandina upazila health complex while 10 others were admitted to the hospital.
Five other injured were taken to the Comilla Sadar Hospital. Two units of fire brigade salvaged the bus with the help of racker. – UNB
