Construction of academic building inaugurated in Kawnia

The construction work of the five-storey new academic building of Kawnia Mohila
Degree College was inaugurated in Kawnia upazila of the district on Tuesday.
Member of the Parliament from Rangpur-4 constituency and valiant freedom fighter (FF)
Tipu Munshi formally inaugurated the work through unveiling a plaque as the chief guest
at a ceremony held on the college campus.
The Education Engineering Department (EED) is implementing the work of the fivestorey building at the cost of Taka 1.34 crore.
With Chairman of the college governing committee FF Sarder Abdul Hakim in the
chair, upazila AL President Anwarul Islam Maya, its General Secretary Abdul Hannan,
Principal of the college Mofazzal Hossain and its Vice-principal Hemanta Kumar
Barman, addressed as the special guests.
Principal of Kawnia upazila vice- chairmen Selina Talukder Sheuly and Rafikul Islam,
Joint Secretary of district AL Mazed Ali Babul, AL leaders Hakibur Rahman Master,
Motahar Hossain Dalu, Habibur Rahman Habib, also spoke.
The teachers and students of the college, upazila level leaders of AL and its front
organisations, civil society members, socio-cultural activists, women community leaders,
professionals, social workers and local elite were present.
Tipu Munshi, MP, said the education sector witnessed remarkable progresses during the
tenure of the present government.
“Construction of the new academic building will further improve the infrastructural
facilities of the reputed institution and help in flourishing the talents of the students,” he said.
He urged the teachers, guardians and college governing committee for ensuring ICTbased quality education for fulfilling the 2021 vision of the present government. –BSS, Rangpur
