Construction work of fire station begins in Shaghata

Construction work of much awaited Fire Service and Civil Defense Station (FSCDS) has begun at Shaghata upazila headquarters in the district on Friday amid much enthusiasm to the locals.Public Works Department (PWD) is implementing the work at a cost of Taka 1.90 crore under a project funded by Government of Bangladesh and the work would be completed by June, 2016, said an official of the department.
Deputy speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah formally inaugurated the work by laying down the foundation stone of the building and unveiling a plaque at noon as the chief guest.Speaking on the occasion deputy speaker and local lawmaker Advocate Rabbi said the government led by Sheikh Hasina took different development schemes to reach the existing facilities of the state to the doorsteps of the common people including rural ones.Accordingly, the FSCDS is being constructed at College Road of the upazila headquarters (Bonarpara) to save the properties of the people here from fire incident side by side with rescuing the people from any mishap, deputy speaker also said. -BSS, Gaibandha
