Coronavirus: 17 policemen recover in Gopalganj

Seventeen policemen of a single police station recovered from coronavirus while 63 members of law enforcement finished 14-day quarantine in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Saturday.“The 17 policemen tested negative for second time on Saturday,” said Gopalganj Civil Surgeon Niaz Mahmud.
Meanwhile, 63 policemen of the police station completed their 14-day quarantine on Friday, he added.

The Civil Surgeon said another policeman of the station tested positive for coronavirus but he is in Dhaka right now.
Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge of the police station, said regular activities were not hampered as a full new setup of police members were deployed for the station.
Earlier on April 12, a total of 66 policemen of the police station were sent to home quarantine as a constable tested positive for coronavirus.
Later, 17 policemen of the police station were also diagnosed with the virus but eventually all of them recovered.
Altogether, 914 members of Bangladesh Police were infected with coronavirus until Monday. Among them, 449 are from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) alone, sources at Police Headquarters told UNB.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 13,770 coronavirus cases and 214 deaths, reports UNB.
