Coronavirus stirs compassion in young minds

The youth of Haydarabad, Gazipur, have brought much-needed relief this Ramadan to the elderly, sick and needy in their community.“There are a number of extremely poor people at the best of times, but the Coronavirus Covid-19 crisis has made their lives practically unbearable,’ said spokesman Ashikur Rahman. “Some are sick and can’t get out. They don’t have food and neither do they have the money to buy it,” he said.
Ashikur and his comrades in Revolution To Improve Bangladesh have so far managed to make up 200 food packages consisting of rice, dal, onion, potatoes and soap, but they are not stopping at that.
“There is much more needed, but we’re doing the best we can,” he said, “We’re hoping youths in other villages will follow our example and do similar for their needy,” he said.
