A mobile court on Friday fined a councillor candidate in Gazipur City
Corporation election for violating election code of conduct in the
municipality area.
The accused is councillor candidate Shahjahan Mia Saju. Sources said
Saju was fined Tk20,000 for distributing leaflets among pedestrians in
Bhora area of ward No 29 in the evening.
Matiar Rahman, returning officer for the city corporation election,
conducted the drive and fined Saju for violating election code of
conduct.
