Dhaka-A couple was burnt to death as a fire broke out at their house at Janalibali in the Chittagong city’s Bakalia area early Sunday.The deceased was identified as Sayed Ahmad, 35, and his wife Rina Akter, 27.
Sources at Chittagong fire service control room said the fire broke out at the house of one Saleh Ahmad around 3.50am and it soon engulfed three houses.
On information, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze.
Sayed Ahmad and Rina suffered serious burn injuries and were taken to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where doctors declared them dead around 5.00am.
CMCH police camp’s Nayek Hamid confirmed the deaths.
The reason behind the fire could not be confirmed.
