A Dhaka court on Monday rejected a remand petition of Paltan Thana Police seeking 10 days’ fresh remand of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal president Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal after he was produced before the court on completion of earlier granted four days’ remand in a case filed for vandalism.Magistrate Md. Rezaul Karim of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka also passed the order to send Alal to jail rejecting his bail petition..
Alal was shown arrested from the Kashimpur jail gate on May 8 in a Motijheel police station case filed on the charges of vandalism and torching during the hartal (shutdown) of March 17. BNP-led 18-party alliance sponsored the dawn to dusk hartal.
On May 2, Alal had secured bail in seven cases from the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
