8 killed in Khagrachhari, Cox’s Bazar road accidents

Dhaka, Feb 3 – At least eight people were killed in two accidents in Khagrachhari and Cox’s Bazar districts on Thursday night and early Friday, acccording to reports received here.According a message received in the morning at least fivce peope were killed and manyub others injured when a running bus hit them at Alutila in Khagrachhari hill district in the morning. Accroding to the messase the death toll might rise. Details were unavailable immediately.
In another acident three people, including a woman and a minor boy, were killed and 15 others injured in a collision between a bus and a microbus at Dayalmara, Cox’s Bazar, on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in Chokoria upazila on Thursday night, UNB news agency reported.
The deceased were identified as Arif hossain, 26, microbus driver, Maria Begum, 50, wife of Momen Hossain of Dholaikhal in Dhaka and Yeamin, 5, son of Masud of New Market area in Dhaka.
The accident took place around 11.45 pm when the Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Shyamoli Paribahan’ collided with the microbus coming from the opposite direction, leaving the trio dead on the spot and 15 passengers of the two vehicles injured, said officer-in-charge of Chokoria Police Station Jahirul Islam Khan.
The injured were taken to Chokoria upazila health complex and Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
