Creating awareness about reproductive health stressed

Speakers at a function here yesterday stressed the need for creating much awareness to the adolescents and the capable conjugal about reproductive health to build a healthy nation.“To learn about reproductive health, physical change at the age juncture, sexually transmitted diseases, premature pregnancy and complicacy during pregnancy, safe delivery and motherhood is very essential for all the adolescents and the women”, they said.They made the comments while addressing an awareness meeting on reproductive health on the premises of Manikcore High School under Kanchipara union of Fulchhari upazila in the district on Wednesday.  Gana Unnayan Kendra, a local reputed non government organization, arranged the function under the project of Resilience Improvement of Vulnerable Extreme Riparian with the financial support of Christian Aid.Dr Saima Begum, medical officer of Fulchhari upazila Health Complex, addressed the function as the chief guest and health education officer of Civil Surgeon office Abdul Hannan was present as special guest.With head teacher of the school Shah Alam Sarker in the chair, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by project manager Protima Chakrabartee and journalist Sarker M Shahiduzzaman.Dr Saima in her speeches elaborately narrated about safer sex and reproductive health and other problems being faced by the adolescents at the age juncture when physical change begins and way-out to overcome the situation.
The adolescents should be sensitised from the school and family level side by side with enhancing their knowledge and education on physical change, safer sex and reproductive health for their normal growth in building a better nation, she also said.  BSS, Gaibandha
