Two daring dacities were committed in the village Piljanga under
Fakirhat Upazila in the district on the night of Monday, according to
a delayed report received here. At first a gang of armed dacoits, 7/8 in number, raided the house of
one Jonab Ali Hawladar of Sadhurbattala area of the village at dead of
night and entered it very tactfully. Then they made the housewife and
her children hostage at arms point, looted cash Taka one Lakh, gold
ornaments weighing 3 Tolas and other valuables worth about Tk.3 lakh
and fled away.
Then the dacoits raided the adjacent house of Kamal Uddin Bhuiya, a
businessman, entered the house after breaking open the grills of the
window and made the inmates of the house at arms point and decamped
with cash Taka 12.5 thousand, gold ornament weighing 3 Tolas and other
valuables worth Tk.3 lakh.
In this connection 2 separate cases were lodged with Fakirhat PS.
It is mentionable here that on the night March 17 a during dacoity was
committed in the house of teacher Dhali Maksud Ali of the same village
and the dacoits looted cash and other valuables worth Tk.5 lakha.
On the other hand, the members of senseless parties are also very active in the
various places of the Upazila.
