Day-long pet expo held in Chittagong

Chattogram, Feb 23 (UNB) – A day-long pet fair was held in a festive manner at the ground of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) here on Saturday.

CVASU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Gautam Buddha Das inaugurated the fair at 10 am which later concluded at 8 pm.

Hundreds of animal lovers thronged the fair throughout the day.

Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chittagong Bird Breeders’ Association (CBBA), Animal Care of Chattogram, Chittagong High Flyer Zone, Association of Avian Veterinarians in Bangladesh and Birds and Pets Clinics jointly organised the fair for the fourth time in the district.  

More than 500 different species of birds, 10 of rabbits, 45 types of dogs, 16 species of cats and 100 species of aquarium fishes were showcased in the fair.

Md Shahidur Rahman who showcased birds in the fair said, “Farming birds and pigeons is my hobby. I have built a separate room in my house for birds and pigeons.”
