Day of against Drug Abuse observed in Bogra

International Day against Drug Abuse was observed in Bogra through
discussion meeting, human chain and colourful procession on June 26.
A human chain was formed at Satmatha, heart of the town and a
colourful procession brought out. The procession paraded through the
Main Street around the town at 8.30am. The discussion meeting and
prize giving ceremony to the competitors was held at the Shaheed Titu
Auditorium with additional district magistrate of Bogra Mohammad
Hossain in the chair.
The Narcotics Control Department of Bogra regional office arranged the
programmes. The theme of the Day was “No Drug, health will be new
expectations in life.”
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bogra Md Shafiqur Reza Bishwash was the
chief guest on the occasions where additional police super Sayed Abu
Sayem, districl Awami League president Momotaj Uddin, acting company
commander of RAB-12, Bogra unit Masudur Rahman, the first woman of
Bangladesh who won the Everest Nishath  Majumdar were present and
spoke as special guests among others.
NGO director Mahfuz Ara Miva, Panel Mayor of Bogra Municipality Aminul
Farid, Executive Director of Drug-healing centre (BADS) Dr Mohammad
Aktaruzzaman, Coordinator of Bogra Civil Surgeon office Dr Gazi Saiful
Islam Chowdhury, Associate Professor of Bogra Govt. Azizul Haque
College Dr Fazlul Haque also spoke at the meeting.
Assistant Director (AD) of the Narcotics Control Department (NCD)
Bogra Sub-region Md Manjurul Islam delivered the welcome address and
presented the keynote paper marking the day. At the end of the
programme, prizes were distributed to the winners of essay and art
competitions.
