Daylong Blood Donation Program by IUBAT with Quantum Foundation

Prof. Dr. A F M Ruhul Haque, MP, Former Minister for Health and Family Welfare has called upon academic community to involve in socio-humanitarian services for extending support to strengthen healthcare leading to healthy nation in line with global changes. 

He was inaugurating a ‘Daylong Blood Donation Program of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology(IUBAT) at its permanent campus,Uttara on Thursday as chief guest.
The prominent orthopedics physician and Former Minister of Health and Family Welfare lauded the satisfactory role of IUBAT in flourishing higher education in private sector through latest curricula and global practices. He appreciated the College of Nursing for producing professional and quality nurses and sincere involvement in socio-humanitarian arena through blood donation camp in collaboration with Quantum Foundation.
Prof.Dr. M Alimullah Miyan, Vice Chancellor of IUBAT presiding the function focused wide ranging academic activities of the university detailing its mission, vision and objectives for producing quality graduates through professional higher education for facing the global challenges. He termed university’s role as sacrosanct and emphasized on bringing conceptual change in society for marching ahead.
IUBAT has been engaged in manpower development by way of prioritizing higher education to link with social needs. The old and new academics have been molding the students for conceptual change to make them more society oriented. This is necessary to translate advanced knowledge and technology for facilitating socio-economic transformation, he emphatically viewed.
Chairs, directors, coordinators, faculties and students of different colleges and departments including the members of Uttara community juined the program followed by daylong blood donation activities. A huge number of male and female from both University and neibouring Uttara community joined the program to support the humanitarian gesture towards public health care management.
Organized by IUBAT College of Nursing in Collaboration with Quantum Foundation, Dhaka, the program at the Lake Side Arena of the campus, was an extended event of 24th Foundation celebration. Earlier, Minister for Liberation War Affairs Mr. AKM Mozammel Huq inaugurated the foundation ceremony last week as chief guest.
Dr Karen Lund, Sr. Advisor, IUBAT College of Nursing, and famous health expert from Canada briefly detailed how IUBAT has been producing world class professional nurses to meet the needs of hospitals and healthcare institutions in the country.
Dr M A Jabbar, Chair, Department of Economics and Convener of Foundation Organizing Committee thanked the former minister for inaugurating the program launched by college of nursing for humanitarian service to the society. .
Wide range of enthusiasm and exuberance heralded at the campus during foundation celebration marked by different academic and extra-academic programs. IUBAT tries to showcase the excellence of academic programs in different colleges and departments in this yearly celebration, he pointed out.
