DCCI submits 10-point business recommendation to govt

Dhaka – The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) on Monday submitted to the government a 10-point recommendation, including that of reducing high bank interest rates and full implementation of PPP and connectivity.
DCCI president Mohammad Shahjahan Khan placed the recommendations before Finance Minister AMA Muhith when the newly elected office-bearers of the trade body met him at his secretariat office this afternoon.The DCCI President also talked about GDP growth and investment, modernization of NBR, reformation of capital market, establishment of economic zones at different parts of the country and widening the tax net.
Shahjahan Khan said the government should take measures to bring down the SPREAD ratio to 3 percent so that the credit flow to the private sector can get a momentum.
He also emphasised infrastructure development for enhanced investment, wider electrification, ensuring gas connection, development of inter-connectivity and communication, effective strategy for proper implementation of PPP.
The DCCI President urged for the continuation of 2 percent incentive to the RMG sector for exploring new export markets.
DCCI Senior Vice President Osama Taseer and Vice President Kh. Shahidul Islam, DCCI Directors Abul Hossain, Haider Ahmed Khan, FCA, Md. Iftekharuddin (Naushad), Humayun Rashid, Md. Sabur Khan, Nessar Maksud Khan, Rizwan Ur Rahman, Muktar Hossain Chowdhury, S Rumi Saifullah, Sameer Sattar, Hossain A Sikder, Md. Shoib Choudhury, AKD Khair Mohammad Khan and KG Karim were also present at the meeting. – UNB
