The first death anniversary of superintendent engineer of Bangladesh Post Office, Rukunuddin Ahmed will be observed on Saturday. Last year on this day he died due to stroke while working on his laptop. He did his S.S.C from Gopalganj Model High School, H.S.C. from Chittagong Govt College and B.Sc in Civil Engineering from BUET (1978).His father Kamaluddin Ahmed had also worked in Bangladesh Post Office.He was involved with a number of social clubs. He was life member of BUET Alumni Association (Membership no 197879015786L), BUET Alumni '78, The Institute of Engineers Bangladesh (Membership No F-9378), Chottogram Shamity (Membership no 940), Shatkania-Lohagara Shamity, Ramna Provati. He performed Hajj in 2009.He left his wife Lutfun Nahar Minoo (Journalist), two sons Sakeeb Ahmed and Tahsin Ahmed and a daughter Orinthia Ahmed.
He is buried in his family graveyard at Amirabad village of Lohagara Thana in Chittagong District. Today milad mahfil and mezban has been arranged on this occasion. May his soul rest in peace. Senior journalist Lutfun Nahar Minoo is his wife.
