‘Delhi will not interfere in internal affairs of Dhaka’

The Indian government will not interfere in any internal affair of Bangladesh as it depends totally on the government of Bangladesh and its people.
Indian External Affairs Ministry’s spokesman Syed Akbaruddin made this comment while speaking at the regular briefing at the Indian capital New Delhi on Monday. “As a friendly neighboring country, we wish Bangladesh and its people’s development and prosperity-India never interfere in the internal affairs of any country as per Indian foreign policy”, he said.
He made this comment when his attention was drawn on a news item published in the influential Indian daily -The Times of India. In a recent interview with the Times of India, Nazrul Islam Khan, Standing Committee member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), expected Indian interference on resolving the present political situation of Bangladesh.
Replying to a question on the issue, Syed Akberuddin said that Indian policy is not to interfere in the internal affairs of any country. Bangladesh Government and its people will take decision about their internal affairs, he said. – BSS
