Dhaka Court sets 12 June for Khaleda to appear in 11 cases

Dhaka, April 16 – The Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka yesterday fixed June 12 for the appearance of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia before it in 11 cases filed against her.
Metropolitan sessions judge Imrul Qayes set the date on Tuesday. Of the cases, eight were lodged with Darus Salam Police Station for carrying out subversive activities, one for sedition and two others were filed with Jatrabari Police Station.
Earlier, April 16 was fixed for hearing on charge framing in 10 cases and the court was scheduled to accept charge sheet in another case.
But the defence sought time, saying proceedings of most of these cases have been stayed by the High Court Division of the Supreme Court. Later, the court deferred the hearing. – Court Correspondent
