The doctors’ role is vital for reaching healthcare services to the people particularly the rural poor and disadvantaged ones, DC of Gaibandha said.
“Getting healthcare services is one of the major fundamental rights of all the citizens”, he said.DC M Ehsan-E-Elahi made the comments while addressing aninaugural ceremony of a month long orientation for the students of MBBS, BDS and Physiotherapy courses of 19th batch of Gana Bishwabidyaloy held at the conference room of the hospital here recently.Elahi also advised the doctors to change their mindset and go to rural areas to provide healthcare services to the common people particularly poor and destitute of the district.Mentioning the doctors’ profession as the best one, the DC urged the physicians to be more cordial, sincere and responsible for providing medicare services to the people.With regional director of Gana Shastha Kendra (GSK) Kawsar Ali Reza in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, by manager of GSK here Bakhtiar Rahman, local UP chairman Emarul Islam Sabin and journalist Syed Nur Alam Jahangir while Dr SA Nahid conducted the ceremony.Earlier, the objective and purpose of the orientation course were presented elaborately by assistant professor, community medicine unit of the university, Dr Abul Bashar through multimedia projector.A total of 33 students of the university are taking part in the month long orientation course. -BSS, Gaibandha
