Country’s both bourses — Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) –- posted moderate gain on Sunday, the first trading day of the week. The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 37.91 points 0.91 percent to reach 4163.18 at close of trading today. Of the 288 issues traded, 171 gained, 92 declined and 16 remained unchanged. Shares worth Tk 820 crore changed hands on the day. The CSE key index, CSCX gained 38.78 points to reach 8130.70 at close. Of the 266 issues traded, 118 gained, 86 declined and 22 remained unchanged. The value of the traded issues was Tk 60.47 crore. Earlier, in the day, both the bourses began trading with positive trend. The DSEX gained 64.45 points or 1.56 percent to reach 4189.73 at 11:10 am while the CSCX gained 102.22 points to stand at 8194.14, also at 11:10 am today. The top 10 gainers at the DSE, dominated by insurance companies, include Meghna Life, Rangpur Foundary, Somorita Hospital, Sunlife Insurance, Sandhani Insurance, Rupali Life Insurance, Ibn Sina, Fareast Islami Life Insurance, BD Welding, and Gemini Sea Food. – UNB
