DU expels 16 students for life

Dhaka University authorities have expelled 16 of its students for life on various charges.
The decision was taken at a syndicate meeting on Sunday night, several syndicate members who attended the meeting told journalists.Director of DU Public Relations Office, Noor-e-Islam, told Prothom Alo that they will inform the media about the details of the expulsion on Monday through a press release.
According syndicate members, DU authorities expelled six of its students for their involvement in proxy first year honours admission test under academic in various universities while six others were expelled for their alleged involvement with banned militant outfit Hizb-ut Tahrir, three for sexually harassing another female student and one for vandalising the room of Amar Ekushe Hall’s provost. – Agencies
