Easy narcotics access in BAU dormitories

Mymensingh – Ganja (marijuana), puria (heroin), Daill (phensidyl) and pathedine injection now easily available at 9 male hall dormitories of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) as these narcotics are low-priced and with no trouble access to hand. It is alleged that university administration authority could not take any proper action to stop the illicit drug trafficking.Teachers and students alleged that, students are getting involved in different crimes as their drug attachment is increasing day by day and the situation are getting more worsen than others.
Different types of drugs are selling at various parts of the university like sesh mor area, pagla bazaar, Brahmaputra river side, Kawatkhali and also in mymensingh town. Drug dealers have developed a strong network by dealing their products in university premises like staffs’ residential area, Jobbarer morh, Sesh morh, agronomy field farm, backside of Fazlul Haque hall and dairy farm road.
Sources said, the addicted drug students sat in a dormitory room making a gather of drug night in male hall dormitories. Group drug parties are common in Shaheed Suhrawardy Hall, Fazlul Haque Hall, Shaheed Shamsul Haque Hall, and Ashraful Haque Hall.
BAU proctor Prof Dr Atiqur Rahman Khokhon said that, our effort to prevent narcotics is undeterred as we told police authority and detective branches of Mymensingh to take proper necessary steps against drug dealers. – BAU Correspondent
