Educate youths on values of honesty to prevent corruption: Speakers

Speakers at a coordination meeting for preventing corruption have stressed for educating the young generations on values of honesty to inspire them in preventing corruption for building a corruption-free Bangladesh.The District Corruption Prevention Committee (DCPC) organised the meeting at Begum Rokeya High School in the city for members of the ‘Satota Sangha’, its Advisory Council, School Managing Committee, teachers and students of the school on Sunday afternoon.The District Combined Office of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and RDRS Bangladesh under the Justice Reform and Corruption Prevention (JRCP) Project extended cooperation in organising the coordination meeting for preventing corruption.The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has been
implementing the JRCP Project through GO-NGO collaboration under financial assistance of German Development Cooperation (GIZ).With Headmistress of the school Rekha Rani Roy in the chair, Assistant Deputy Director of Rangpur District Combined Office of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Nur-E-Alam attended the meeting as the chief guest.General Secretary of the DCPC and valiant freedom fighter Akbar Hossain attended the meeting as the special guest.District Manager of JRCP Project Ershad Md Rasel, SMC members of the school Musa Mian and Abdul Kudus, Advisory Council Members of ‘Satota Sangha’ Zonayed Hossain, Farah Tabassum, Gulshan Ara Begum, Rokeya Khatun and Roksana Begum, spoke.President of the executive committee of Begum Rokeya High School unit of ‘Satota Sangha’ (an anti-corruptions students’ organisation) Nupur Nahar and its General Secretary Fatema Tul Zannat also addressed the meeting.The speakers put special emphasis on building moral character of the secondary level school students and motivating them for taking part in social welfare activities through improving education and public health situations since their student life.They suggested for arranging anti-corruption rallies, human chain, views-sharing meetings, debate and essay competitions at the school level for building anti-corruption sentiment among the students and further strengthening activities of ‘Satota Sangha.’They especially stressed for educating the young students on the values of honesty for applying those to have positive impacts on their behaviour in building a corruption free society to make the hard-earned independence meaningful for every citizen.The chief guest said prevention of corruption is not possible only through creation of laws and suggested for launching social movement, involving the young generations, youths and students, for preventing
