Police recovered the body of an elderly woman from Solemanpur village in Moheshpur upazila on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Rokeya Begum, 50, wife of late Ibrahim Mandal of the village. Officer-in-charge of Moheshpur Police Station Akram Hossain said locals saw Rokeya’s body lying in a bamboo cluster at the village around noon and informed police. The woman might have been killed by strangulation as there was an injury mark around her neck, the OC suspected. The body was sent to the morgue of the district hospital for autopsy. -UNB, Jhenidah
