CHUADANGA – The elections to six union parisads under Damurhuda and Jibannagar upazilas of the district will be held on May 28.
A total of 36 candidates are contesting for chairman posts, 252 candidates for members while 65 for reserved seats for woman in the six unions.The number of voters in the six upazilas is 1,53,140 including 76,364 female voters.A total of 70 polling stations will be setup in all the six union parisad elections. Three returning officers, three assistant returning officers, 70 presiding officers, 509 assistant presiding officers and 1,061 polling officers have been appointed to conduct the six UP elections, district election office source said.The unions are Karpashdanga, Kurulgachi, Damurhuda and Juranpur of Damurhuda upazila and Andulbaria and Shimanto union under Jibannagar upazila.(BSS)
