Electric shortcircuit causes fire at Shahjalal Airport immigration office

Dhaka – A fire broke out inside the office of the officer-in-charge (Immigration) at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city on Sunday morning.
However, no causality or major damage was reported as the flame was doused instantly by internal fire extinguishers of the airport, according to airport sources.Contacted, ASP Morshed Jahan of Airport Armed Police (AAP) told reporters that the fire originated from an electric short circuit around 8:30am but it was doused instantly through the airport’s internal arrangements.
No casualty was reported in the incident, she added.
Ataur Rahman, duty officer of fire service headquarters control room, said the control room was not informed about the incident.
“The fire might have been by doused by their internal arrangement,” he added.- UNB
